November catch up

Friday, 5 December 2014

Incredible fireworks at Alton Towers. The cheesiest Mac'n'Cheese. The Smiler may be the best ride ever.Tiny bottles of fizzy stuff with my sister. I made her dinner too, aren't I nice. How could I not go to the Breakfast club? My bunny is just too frigging cute. I'd like to think i'm improving at Pole. I just love to cook for people, can you tell.

Look how big he is compared to that hen! Wild Friday watching Hercules. Why is my car so rubbish. Tiny cute little bunny, eeee-thanks Facebook. Celebrating my friends 21st. I've just noticed how often I eat pasta. Possibly the bravest squirrel in the world. Cute sunset. Winter Wonderland is rammed on a Saturday but it's just so festive.

Aren't we cute. So many sweets at the Wonderland. The gorgeous birthday girl.
Don't we look nice sober. Love these girls millions-had the best night. En route to Cirque Le Soir. Fast forward to the hangover the next day and we don't look so good. Not sure how I feel about there being a snake in the club. We didn't look so classy at the end of the night.

November was a brilliant month for me, it seemed so perfectly balanced. Two crazy busy weekends and two very chilled ones, I can't have a full on schedule all the time, it's far too exhausting. I had a brilliant weekend celebrating one of my closest friends 21st's - it's not often that I go on big nights out, it's just not really me but the whole weekend was good fun and I didn't stop laughing the whole time. I'm now so ready for Christmas, half my presents are done and dusted, more are on the way, and there are some to make. I always go a little crazy at christmas, I just love buying presents and spoiling people. Less than three weeks to go people!

My chocolate workshop

Friday, 16 May 2014

Sunday 11th May was a particularly special day because my sister and I finally got to cash in our Christmas experience day from mumma. I admit, I didn't feel to confident about it on the way up, it wasn't in the nicest of places in Central London. However, they have certainly made their workshop space very welcoming, full of cute jars and stands and the strong smell of chocolate definitely helped to ease the nerves.
The night was full of activities and festivities; bubbles, crazy strong chocolate martini's, flavouring chocolate, making and dipping fudge and truffles and tasting chocolate from around the world.
3 hours of pure indulgence and fun. It helps that we had a very amusing Canadian instructor too. Being the biggest chocoholic I know, I have to tell you how much fun it was, and even better was that we got to bring a bag of goodies home to share (or eat ourselves, *stuffs face*) and I definitely recommend it to anyone with a sweet tooth.

Mother's Day!

Sunday, 30 March 2014

Happy Mother's Day to all you lovely mummy's out there. I adore my mum, she's a pretty awesome lady, but she gets enough presents on her birthday and at Christmas...and they're difficult enough to shop for. So we decided to buy the generic flowers and some macarons and then take her for afternoon tea instead.

Bea's of Bloomsbury is a cute little cafe type tea room near St Paul's Cathedral. The standard afternoon tea is £19 per person and consists of some savoury filled brioche buns, a cupcake, a scone and a mix of mini sweet treats (brownies, meringues and marshmallows). We had pulled pork and cheese with pepper brioche buns and raspberry, nutella, and praline cupcakes, although they vary day to day and the table next to us had a different selection of cakes.

The food was very good, the brioche buns and the scones were especially good. I will definitely be attempting to make little brioche rolls at home. The mini brownie bites were yummy, and a good follow on from the buns, but they snuck peanut butter in the walnut brownies which made me sad :(.
If you follow me on Twitter and Instagram you will know I love to bake, and although the frosting was delicious and creamy, I can't say I was very impressed with the actual cupcake. It was a bit nothing-y.

It's a shame, as they are in a great location and are a very reasonable price for London. A few little differences could make this good place a great place. The service especially needs a change, grubby cups and having to wait 10/15 minutes to be asked about tea isn't ideal, especially when your food is already out waiting. I would definitely go back for cream tea, or perhaps lunch, but I wouldn't re-visit for the afternoon tea as is.

Speaking of cupcakes - I made some for my mummy last night, I will put up a more detailed post/recipe later this week so keep an eye out for that.

I hope all the mummy's have been thoroughly spoilt today, and I hope you all had a great weekend.

Time flies

Sunday, 29 September 2013

Hey guys, so it doesn't feel like that long ago that I posted about mine and Jakes 2 years. Well now it's 3 years and I wanted to share a few pictures with you all. They aren't great quality as there wasn't a whole lotta light. But I tried my best and I had a great evening!

Watermelon and strawberry. Texas tostadas. BBQ chicken burger. Jake and the view from paramount cocktail bar. His n hers. Dreadful couple photo. Flowers from Interflora

These gorgeous flowers arrived at my office Friday morning and they were definitely welcome on my cluttered desk. As much as I didn't like having to work that day, Jake met me after and we had a really nice evening. We took a trip to the 32nd floor of the Paramount building for a drink and to watch the sunset. It was a pretty impressive view from up there. We soon felt pretty out of our comfort zone though and headed to Planet Hollywood in Picadilly. I'm a really picky eater so I'm not at all fussed about going to fancy restaurants, a good meal out for me is the Harvester! The atmosphere was great and the staff were so friendly. We really enjoyed the food, and would definitely go back...although we might try the 'Rainforest cafe' first? The puddings look incredible!

All in all I had a lovely evening and I can't believe how quickly the year has gone. Who knows what we will get up to next year. I guess you'll have to keep reading!

2 years...Trip to London

Sunday, 30 September 2012

Oh hai!
I am in such a good mood right now, so I thought I would share with you what I got up to on Thursday!
My boyfriend, being the massive sweetheart he is, surprised me with a big bunch of flowers Wednesday night. Thursday morning I thought I would be nice, so made him breakfast after giving him his present (a jumper, how original, ha!) To start off our trip to Londres, we went and saw Shrek the musical (how grown up of us) before deciding to head to Embankment for a 'romantic stroll', as if, we ended up in a freak circus (very strange) before getting caught in the rain haha. I love walking down Embankment and seeing all the buskers and fortunately we managed to see some of them before they packed up.

This was done completely in ballpoint biro, how amazing?!

Who doesn't want a photo with a moving, talking telephone box
This was after the downpour, didn't want to show my 'rain face'

Pretty London

Feeling a bit peckish, we hopped on a tube to Leicester Square to begin our hunt for a place to eat. You know they love a restaurant when there's 3 on one street! Anyway, we walked around for ages, nothing taking our fancy, and then, and then we spotted the m&m store. UHOH. The second I walked in that store, I was in my own little heaven. with tubes and tubes of m&m's all around me. Be proud, I didn't buy anything, not even a bag of m&m's.

Anywho, we decided to be super original and go to our favourite place, Zizzi's, yum yum. We had such dedication that we got 2 tubes from Leicester Square to Victoria, just for dinner!
We get dough sticks, every time without fail. Yummy pasta, so yummy in fact, I had already eaten some before remembering to take a picture, so I had to try to make it look pretty again. Rasberry Lemonade, I have never been able to find any that tastes as good.  I apologise for this last photo, but it made me giggle. He hates photos being taken, and was not happy with me for this.
