Holiday haul 2...clothes

Tuesday, 3 June 2014

Oh hey.
So i've been a little naughty, and although I have loads of clothes, I have decided that I must have new stuff for my holiday in 1 week. (5 days to be precise). Wanna see what I got? Do ya. DO YA. Ok here we go.
1 & 2 go together...obvs because they're a co-ord set. I got them in the Dorothy Perkins sale (and they still have some left) for £20. I LOVE that they are co-ords without being completely matchy matchy, and hopefully it'll be warm enough for me to be able to wear them lots this summer!
3 is a super cute pair of shorts from Newlook. The scalloped bottoms completely make these shorts and although they are hotpants they aren't knicker length. Even so, I won't wear them much outside of my holiday because my legs just aren't nice enough. Hello cellulite.
4 is also from Newlook and is my favourite piece from this haul. It is a gorgeous lightweight jacket and I just think it is adorable. Jeans and jacket, shorts and jacket, dress and jacket. It can literally be worn with so many outfits. I'm super excited to wear it allllllll the timeeeeeeeeee.
Finally, number 5 is a pair of jersey joggers from Asos. I was a little worried that they would be see through, but I did the bum test and I think it's ok! However, a small thing, they are definitely made for people who are 6ft; I have to roll the waist over a coupla times so the crotch isn't down by my knees.
I love every piece on here (although I haven't actually tried it all on yet...maybe I should go do that) and writing this post has made me excited for my holiday's, it's definitely time to start counting down the days!.

Holiday haul...Shoes

Friday, 30 May 2014

Hey hey! Yup, they are all from Asos, thanks to their up to 60% off flash sale a couple of weeks ago. AND they are still all in stock and also in the sale, go grab a bargain.

Numero uno are from London Rebel via Asos, they are simple and comfy. I have one other pair of black sandals from the Topshop sale last summer, I adore them but they are quite showy (is that the word?) so I wanted some plain ones.

Numero dos are Ravel via Asos. They are very similar to some that I found in Warehouse last month but in the flash sale they were like £26 or something crazy like that. SO I BOUGHT THEM. Don't judge me

Numero tres are my FAVES. They are Carvela Kurt Geiger and they were only £28!! I love how plain they are, and I can't wait to wear them all the time. I mean alllll the timeeee.

Okay, so I don't actually really like espadrilles but I wanted a pair of comfy shoes for mine and Jakes holiday next weekend and pumps make my feet gross and sweaty if it's too hot. TMI I know. They won't stay very white for long, but hey they were only £10.

In case you didn't know (or didn't read the line above) me and Jake are off to sunny Lanzarote on Saturday. Wahoo. So yeah, that's why they're all summer shoes :)

'Probably shouldn't have done that'

Tuesday, 17 September 2013

The title pretty much sums up what my bank balance was saying to me after I walked out of Boots on Sunday. My response was 'be quiet, they are necessary purchases.' Besides, it was buy one get one half price so it's justified right?
1. EcoTools eyeshadow brush- so I may already have this brush but its just so fluffy I had to have another.
2. Real techniques expert face brush- another brush to add to my little collection, I don't really need it, but I'll use it anyway. It's a good brush, and not a bad price!
3. Bourjois Delice de soleil- I had the chocolate block, so now I'm going to try this one. I don't really use bronzer that often (I don't think I have any cheek bones to contour but hey, it's handy to have.
4. Rimmel Wake me up foundation in ivory- I've had this foundation before and I liked it. It has good coverage, doesn't dry out my skin and also doesn't slide off my face as quickly as some others. It's a handy one to have on weekdays when I'm just going to work.
5. Revlon lip butter in cupcake- I bought one of these in the shade 'raspberry pie' as soon as they came out, and I love them when the weather gets colder. They're super moisturising, and such lovely colours. Perfect for autumn.

6. Benefit they're real mascara- I'm actually very surprised I didn't buy this mascara as soon as everyone started raving about it. Good willpower Megan, well done! 'Claps self', but when I spotted that at the moment, you get a free travel size one with it (perfect for my carry around make up bag) I couldn't resist any longer. Very good mascara, however it rubs off very easily which isn't good for someone who picks their eyelashes!

7. Benefit Rockateur blusher- I needed a new blusher, this ones new, and the sales advisor was very good at her job. Need I say more? I like it, and the shimmer goes away after a few uses which is handy for me as I'm not in to sparkly blushers.

8. Time for the grand finale, the Yves Saint Laurent le teint touché éclat foundation- expensive? Yes. Worth it? Who knows, haven't used it yet. Why? This is my first high end foundation (other than the Clinique one that was too dark for my skin when I was 15) and I wanted to treat myself to a decent one. I took myself to a counter, and then didn't know what shade I was so I completely trusted the woman behind the counter. We will soon see if she was any good at her job.

I may have to wait a little while until my next make up haul, my bank card is still crying in my purse.

New work haul

Monday, 29 July 2013

So today I started my adventure into the real world, and by real world I mean I've got a big girls job ha. I decided that since it was payday weekend, I'd make the most of my pay cheque and go shopping.

Wallis, Primark, M&S, Dorothy Perkins, Forever 21, Topshop
Mustard lace panel cami (Forever 21), bright orange, pink and lacy pink vests (Topshop). Sorry there's no links for these guys, can't find them on either site!
Grey printed midi skirt (M&S), Red maxi skirt (Primark), Black jeans (Dorothy Perkins).
White polka dot pumps (Wallis), Beauty UK nail varnishes (superdrug), Necklace (Primark), Black bow pumps (Primark).

I know some of these items aren't work appropriate but still thought I'd include them as it isn't often I get to buy lots of things at once. I wore the red maxi skirt and black bow pumps with a black vest top for my first day, long skirt=no chance of the wind exposing my bum!

AWOL

Thursday, 27 September 2012

Hey guys.
I know I know. I keep going awol. I am sooooo sorry. I promise to be good and blog regularly from now on :) Not forgiven yet?
Okay, here's the reason:
I've gone and got myself a temporary second job, and I know lots of people do it but I do not understand how! My first day off in two weeks is on Thursday and the only reason I've got that is because I got my shift at Wallis covered because it's my boyfriend and I's second year anniversary (don't worry there will be a whole post on that soon.) Anyway, enough of my whining. I am slowly getting into a routine and learning to get things done around work :(. I'm not sure I'll be able to do this full time work lark for the next 40 odd years, I'm exhausted.

So, because I haven't had much time to myself recently I haven't been able to get to many shops, not even online ones, to do any shopping! Which is probably a good thing really seen as the whole reason I'm doing this second job is to save money. However, last week at Wallis we had an up to 30% off event and there was 20% off all jewellery (even sale stuff!) and I had seen a few bits I liked so I thought I might as well get what I wanted whilst this event was on. Big mistake, I ended up spending about £26. Naughty Megan.

Wanna see what I got? Here goes...
p.s before we start, I want to apologise for the quality of the photo's. A new camera is on my list of important things to buy.

Lets start with silver sale. necklace: £4   Ring:£3.20

Black feather earrings £1.60

Matching feather necklace £4.80

My favourite-gold chain bracelet £4

Non sale - Bracelet £6 Ring:£3.20

And then, just to top it off, I made the mistake of going into Superdrug whilst waiting for my friend. I've been meaning to find a new foundation for a while now, as I'm currently in the process of using up the last bits of my current ones. I was hoping to find a really nice/probably very expensive one, that would become my ultimate fave. However, I happened to spot a '2 for £10' on all Maybelline make-up, and well, I do quite like Maybelline as a high street product, so couldn't really resist!

This foundation is one of the newer ones and at £9.19 on it's own, I thought it would be worthwhile to try as part of this deal. An added bonus was that it actually came in a shade light enough for my skin! I bought it in 'Light Beige' and find it to be a perfect colour match. Result!

At £7.99 it is a reasonably priced mascara, but as part of the 2 for £10, paired with the foundation, it became a bargain.

I saw Tanya Burr post a photo of this mascara on twitter saying it was one  of her favourites, and when I saw it in store,  I was enticed to try it. I had only seen good reviews on it and as it was one of their new mascaras I assumed it would be better than their previous mascaras. Why make something new that's worse than the old right?
So together at retail price it would have been £17.18, so I think £10 was a good deal. This foundation will do for now (because it's better than the rest I currently have) but I am still on the hunt for my amazing foundation.
Got any tips on finding that amazing foundation? Let me know.
