Christmas wishlist

Monday, 1 December 2014

1. Striped colour block jumper - Oliver Bonas
2. SensatioNail gel polish in Liquid metal steel a kiss - Boots
3. Burgundy coat - Newlook
4. My side/Your side double bed sheets - Amazon
5. Safah ring - Oliver Bonas

Hello hello, sorry this post didn't go up on Thursday- I had some technical issues and then I was in London all weekend for my friends 21st birthday and I was far too hungover last night to even think.
I hadn't heard of Oliver Bonas until about a month ago when my sister started raving about it, and since then I have been spotting the brand everywhere. I have noticed there is a store in Waterloo station which could be dangerous being 5 minutes from work! I spotted this jumper instantly in store a few weeks ago, it is unbelievably soft and comfortable and definitely wearable for at least 8 months a year. The ring is also an Oliver Bonas pick-it's just so sparkly and pretty and I can use it to try to hide my short stubby fingers.

Very basic eplanations for the next ones, I picked myself up the SensatioNail deluxe starter kit for £60 last month in a Boots offer and I only have 2 pinks and a gold so now i'm on the hunt to build up my collection, starting with this sparkly grey.
It's winter, it's cold, I need a coat pretty much everyday so this burgundy coat is necessary. Right? As much as I adore my Topshop parka to keep me snug, I just can't turn down a pretty looking coat and my collection has doubled in the last year.
Finally, these bed sheets are amazing-I was after the pillowcases last year (which I totally didn't get, boo). Annoyingly they are the wrong way round for the side I sleep so if anyone could find these (and buy them for me) with the print on the opposite sides then I would be very very grateful.

Growing up and stuff: OOTD edition

Monday, 3 November 2014

Blazer: Newlook
Top: Boohoo
Trousers: Newlook
Bag: Kate Spade
Ring: Kate Spade
Watch: Fossil

Well I guess I lied in my last post, seriously it's November what is with this freak weather we are having at the moment. Saturday was gloriously sunny and I didn't make the most of it in the slightest (apart from using it to take photos) I spent the day in Bluewater shopping centre with my mum. I may have come home with the Sensationail gel starter kit, but that's a post for another day.

If you have seen my OOTD's of late-you probably would have noticed that I am very much into my blazers at the moment. A plain cami and a bright blazer is my favourite combo for almost any occasion.

This particular blazer has made an appearance in a fair few posts now, I just love everything about it, but this post is all about my new beautiful items that haven't yet made their debut on strawberryteacake. First and foremost, the two stunning items from Kate Spade, both of which were birthday presents a couple of weeks. This bag makes me feel like an adult, how strange does that sound? What I mean is-this is the first real grown up costmorethan30pounds bag I have ever owned and it makes me feel mature (leave me alone it made sense in my head.)

Then comes these beautiful beautiful boots, that may or may not have been a little birthday present to myself (they were), but seriously how could I resist these babies. BONUS- they were only £80! Which I think is an amazing price for these boots THANKS TK Maxx for being the best shop ever.

Last but not least, these trousers are the most comfortable things in the entire world, stretchy like a legging but flattering like a pair of trousers, I think Cameo Rose/Newlook are on to a winning combination. Now if only the pattern matched on the seams, they would be 100% perfect. Damn working in fashion.

Hope you had a fab weekend guys, sorry this is late, I got a little carried away carving pumpkins on Thursday and then the weekend flew by, whoops.

Blazer: New Look
Top: Wallis
Jeans: New Look
Shoes: Office
Necklace: Miss Selfridge

Say hello to the last summery outfit of the year - it's time to get out the burgundy's and the grey's and put all the neons away till next year. (Although the occasional bright nail and lip may still occur). It's officially getting cold and dark, and winter is well on it's way which is fine by me. I adore Autumn but I just haven't been able to pull out the warm coats and scarves yet which ruins it a little for me. Hopefully November will restore my love for Autumn - fires and chunky knits are much awaited!

I nabbed this blazer a month or so ago in the New Look sale at a stupidly cheap price. I know this print/colourway has been everywhere this summer but I just didn't really get into it at first. However, we all know I love a blazer and wear them at least 4 times a week so I couldn't really pass this by could I?

I have a pretty chilled dress code at work so jeans and blazers are my go to outfit if I happen to snooze my alarm one too many times, which may happen more often than it should. Time to hunt down some more Autumny blazers now perhaps?

21st birthday wishlist - Fashion

Friday, 19 September 2014

1. After the chilly winter last year, I have decided my parka just wont cut it in the warmth sector this year. I like the length and the two tone colour of this Boohoo faux fur coat and I don't think it's too full on so makes a great baby step into fur coats.

2. I came to the conclusion last weekend that I have kind of given up on bracelets. I'm not sure why but I just seem to reach for rings and necklaces instead. In an attempt to change this I have hunted for a simple but pretty one and I stumbled across this beauty from Topshop.

3. Midi skirts may be my favourite trend from this year. I just don't really have the legs or the skin tone to wear shorter skirts without tights and I think midi skirts are so easy to style and wear. I have had a few over the summer but I think I need a classic black style to use in the Autumn. I like this one from Newlook because it's high waisted and just perfect really.

4. Ok, so this one is very much out of my comfort zone. Past the age of about 13 I don't think I have put a single hat on my head. I branched out a little a few years ago and bought a furry headband thing from Accessorize because I kept getting cold ears, and that is as far as I have got with hats. I just don't think they suit me, BUT, I really really like these floppy hats and I keep wanting to buy one- I just need 1 person to tell me it'll suit me haha. The one I have picked is from Miss S and is perfect sized. Only downside is it is wool, hopefully it wont itch my head.

5. I can't really say much about this one to be honest. I need a scarf and I really like this grey tartan one from Boohoo because it looks pretty long and snuggly. Perfect for the looming cold weather.

6. Probably my favourite item on my wishlist is this geometric necklace from Zara. I absolutely love that is has the silver, gold and black coated metal which means it'll pretty much go perfectly with anything, and then added bonus is it is super chunky and I adore chunky statement jewellery. I really hope someone gets me this. PRETTY PLEASE :)

I have one more wishlist that will be going up before my birthday and it'll be a beauty/homeware wishlist.

Orange squares

Wednesday, 20 August 2014

Top: Work Sample
Jeans: Hollister
Shoes: Newlook
Stag Necklace: USC
Daisy Hairband: Newlook

Hello hello, i'm back with a lazy Sunday type outfit. A nice little perk of my job is the freebie samples every so often. This time it was a boxy orange sleeved top - everything that I probably wouldn't ever buy for myself. I'm not 100% sure it's particularly flattering to be photographed in, but it is comfy which comes higher for me, ha! Paired with casual ripped jeans I added a pair of bright shoes and this cute little hair accessory to try and make it slightly more presentable - has it worked?
See you Saturday for a new post

Dog tooth and pretty jewellery

Trousers: River Island

Top: Boohoo

Shoes: Wallis

Watch: Fossil

Necklace: Newlook

Oh hey, I am making the most of the nice weather so you'll have to excuse the continuous OOTD posts. I picked up these trousers about a month ago and I am obsessed with them. Unfortunately they're hand wash only and i'm super lazy so they've been hanging out in the corner of my room for about a week. I went into town with Jake yesterday afternoon and whilst he got his haircut he left me unattended and I may have sneaked off to Newlook and picked up a few things, on top of the massive order I placed on Thursday. HEHE. Anywho last night I went to dinner with my mumma and had to wear one of my new pieces. Cue my gorgeous pink and blue necklace that I already adore and know I will wear all the time. I know I'm a little overdressed for dinner but after slobbing around for the last few weekends I just really wanted to wear some nice clothes and put on a nicer face ha!

Want Want Want: Summer Accessories

Tuesday, 24 June 2014

1. As you may or may not know, my sister Lauren works at Olivia burton and this Dusty Pink White Dial is the watch catching my eye at the mo, perfect for summer me thinks. Plus, I only have one watch right now and its a rose gold stainless steel, which I adore. However I think everybody should have a leather strap watch to turn to.

2. Coral and mint are possibly my two favourite summer colours ever and right now I am all about trying different hair things and for £5.99 this may very well get added to my collection. Thanks Newlook!

3. Sunglasses and perfume are the two beauty/fashion things I can't stand spending money on. Smelly water and glasses i'll wear for maybe 2 months a year. Boo. However, when I was in Lanzarote I lost my high street sunglasses and it makes me sad because I actually liked them. So maybe I will pick up some decent ones, like these Emporio Armani ones and be done with it?

4. With the current obsession over floral crowns, I feel as though it's about time I picked myself up a little dainty one, and where better than Crown and Glory. I chose this one because you can adjust the size and I have an odd sized head :( ha! Of course it is stunning too, there are so many options on their website right now. Go and have a look.

5. My dream bag is 5 letters long, begins with a P and ends in an A but until I manage to find a spare £1400, high street will have to do. I am currently switching between a black Dune bag and a tan Miss Selfridge bag but I would really like to pick up a medium sized colour block bag, that will be usable for work and going out. I think this one from Oasis is a good find. The delicate change between beige and pale pink and then the pop of mint in the straps is the perfect type of colour blocking. Not too in your face, and wearable with a lot of outfits. I'm always glad to find a bag with a removable shoulder strap too.

Eeek, so many pastels in this post, it makes my heart swoon. It's a good job I haven't been paid yet otherwise 60% of the post may have already been purchased!

Holiday haul 2...clothes

Tuesday, 3 June 2014

Oh hey.
So i've been a little naughty, and although I have loads of clothes, I have decided that I must have new stuff for my holiday in 1 week. (5 days to be precise). Wanna see what I got? Do ya. DO YA. Ok here we go.
1 & 2 go together...obvs because they're a co-ord set. I got them in the Dorothy Perkins sale (and they still have some left) for £20. I LOVE that they are co-ords without being completely matchy matchy, and hopefully it'll be warm enough for me to be able to wear them lots this summer!
3 is a super cute pair of shorts from Newlook. The scalloped bottoms completely make these shorts and although they are hotpants they aren't knicker length. Even so, I won't wear them much outside of my holiday because my legs just aren't nice enough. Hello cellulite.
4 is also from Newlook and is my favourite piece from this haul. It is a gorgeous lightweight jacket and I just think it is adorable. Jeans and jacket, shorts and jacket, dress and jacket. It can literally be worn with so many outfits. I'm super excited to wear it allllllll the timeeeeeeeeee.
Finally, number 5 is a pair of jersey joggers from Asos. I was a little worried that they would be see through, but I did the bum test and I think it's ok! However, a small thing, they are definitely made for people who are 6ft; I have to roll the waist over a coupla times so the crotch isn't down by my knees.
I love every piece on here (although I haven't actually tried it all on yet...maybe I should go do that) and writing this post has made me excited for my holiday's, it's definitely time to start counting down the days!.

OOTD: casual class

Sunday, 6 October 2013

Hey guys!

I went a little crazy this week and purchased a pair of shoes that I normally wouldn't look twice at. These 'high tops' are everywhere at the moment, but I always thought they were too casual for me. I'm normally much more of a ballet pump with bows on type of gal. Working in London has all but removed the possibility of wearing pumps. I have a 20 minute walk from the station to my office everyday, and if there is even the slightest bit of rain, pumps become a no-go...unless you like to have soggy feet for the rest of the day that is.

I was instantly drawn to these ones from River, the quilted base and suede panels made them seem slightly girlier and they just looked comfy. I was sold, into the basket they went. The only part I wasn't thrilled with was the white bottom, but 1 day walking around London and it became a slightly grubbier, less gleaming shade of white.

Top: Matalan

Leggings: Matalan

Blazer: New Look

Shoes: River Island

I teamed the bright yellow top with these leggings to add a bit of colour and added this smart-ish blazer into the mix to make the overall look slightly less casual. Matalan seems to be taking over this outfit a little, not that I'm complaining mind, they have some really lovely stuff in at the moment.

What do you think, can I pull off this sports luxe trend?

Wishlists

Sunday, 5 August 2012

Hey guys!

I have decided to do wishlists because it makes me feel like I'm shopping, without spending any money *sigh*. I have created wishlists for AsosNewlook and Wallis, seen as I work there and all. Now all I need is some extra money and everything could be mine. (Any offers?)
Love this dress, simple and elegant, but a little too short :(. Looking for a new bag, liking this style? Pastel colour blocking, yay or nay? Either way, I love how summery it is and I like how the colours are carried through the dress.

Love a good skater dress! I have been looking for the perfect dip hem dress, could this be it? I like the embellished  shoulders on this top, but am I a fan of the rest of it, hmm. Love some studs, and you always need a new pair of flats.

Who doesn't love pink spotty shoes? I have a confession, I couldn't resist them and bought them. However, I don't feel too guilty because they were only £10, bargain! I love this jumper, I may have to get it as winter uniform. this dress is actually a dipped hem but that isn't shown in the picture, I was drawn in by the colour, but knowing the dresses at Wallis, it would be far too long for me :(. A bunting necklace, Olympic fever, need I have another reason?

Have you guys seen anything you're after?
